The seven chakras are traditionally described as energy centres located along the body’s central axis, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. In yogic philosophy, each chakra is associated with particular emotional, physical and spiritual qualities.


📌 1. Root Chakra — Muladhara  

Location: Base of the spine  

Colour: Red  

Represents: Safety, stability and grounding  

Balance it through walking in nature, practising Mountain Pose, following a regular routine and eating nourishing whole plant foods.


📌 2. Sacral Chakra — Svadhisthana  

Location: Below the navel  

Colour: Orange  

Represents: Creativity, emotions and healthy pleasure  

Balance it through hip-opening yoga, dancing, creative activities, journaling and staying hydrated.


📌 3. Solar Plexus Chakra — Manipura  

Location: Upper abdomen  

Colour: Yellow  

Represents: Confidence, willpower and personal strength  

Balance it through core-strengthening yoga, deep breathing, disciplined routines and setting healthy boundaries.


📌 4. Heart Chakra — Anahata  

Location: Centre of the chest  

Colour: Green  

Represents: Love, compassion and connection  

Balance it through gratitude, forgiveness, loving-kindness meditation, heart-opening yoga and compassionate service.


📌 5. Throat Chakra — Vishuddha  

Location: Throat  

Colour: Blue  

Represents: Communication, truth and self-expression  

Balance it through chanting, singing, mindful speech, honest communication and attentive listening.


📌 6. Third Eye Chakra — Ajna  

Location: Between the eyebrows  

Colour: Indigo  

Represents: Intuition, wisdom and inner clarity  

Balance it through meditation, quiet reflection, journaling and reducing unnecessary distractions.


📌 7. Crown Chakra — Sahasrara  

Location: Top of the head  

Colour: Violet or white  

Represents: Spiritual awareness and connection  

Balance it through meditation, silence, prayer, gratitude, spiritual study and selfless service.
